Prefabrication & Skids

Off-site first. On-site fast.

Prefabrication is not a service we offer, it is how we deliver every project where it is possible to do so.

The model

Built in a workshop, not under site conditions

Most mechanical contracting is built around site sequencing: trades stacked on top of each other, quality dependent on site conditions, and programme at the mercy of everyone else's delays. We approach it differently.

Wherever a boiler house, plant room, pipe rack or plant skid can be built off site, we build it that way, in a controlled environment, to a fixed standard, tested before it ever leaves the workshop. It arrives on site ready to be positioned, connected and commissioned, rather than built from scratch under site conditions.

Modules assembled in a controlled workshop environment

What we prefabricate

Complete, tested, ready to connect

Boiler houses

Fully packaged and tested before delivery.

Plant room modules

Designed for rapid on-site connection.

Pipe rack skids

Pre-assembled pipework racks for corridors, risers and plant areas.

Containerised plant systems

Modular, relocatable, ideal for constrained or live sites.

The benefits

Why it works for main contractors

Time

Off-site build runs in parallel with site works instead of waiting for a sequenced slot, cutting the time our teams spend on site and helping main contractors hit tight handover dates.

Cost

Fewer site labour hours, less site management overhead, and reduced exposure to the cost of site delays.

Quality

Controlled workshop conditions mean every joint, weld and connection is built and tested to a consistent standard, not weather- or access-dependent.

Programme certainty

Less time on site means less coordination with other trades and a materially lower risk of missing a critical handover date.

Scale, not small-contractor thinking

We think in systems and modules

This is the difference between Alert Mechanical and a traditional mechanical sub-contractor. We think in terms of systems and modules, not just pipe runs, designing plant packages that can be manufactured at scale, tested off site, and installed by a small, focused team in a fraction of the time a conventional build would take.
